Every day investors are the meat in the sandwich when it comes to some things. Stuck between a slice of woke-neo-communist barley bread of the far left, and a slice of mixed-nut from the conspiratorial far right, increasingly the middle's being taken over by extremists.
It’s okay to imagine a world where your Amazon shares are up a billion %, and shareholders morph into the consumer, the product, the lender and the government. Just don’t back the team that feels there’s a growing chance things could snap back swiftly to the average, in more ways than one.
Investing in gold often comes with contrarian viewpoints, but I think it's part of having a balanced perspective on the world we actually live in. I suspect I’m in a small crowd who think this, but I’m of the view you can be a balanced person, while holding contrarian views. Just ensure you hold a few, ideally uncorrelated ones!
